Join us on Monday & Tuesday evening September 25th & 26th from 6:30pm-8:30pm as we team up with McClintock Distilling to give students a behind the scenes look at everyone’s favorite nutty, oaky, & smoky spirit – whiskey! On day one of this two-part class, you will learn all about how Whiskey is made, the different types of whiskey and flavor profiles, some brief history of how whiskey came to be, and the barrel aging process. Tastings will be incorporated in the different stages of aging for students to better understand how aging impacts flavor. The second day will focus on Rye Whiskey, and more specifically, Maryland Rye Whiskey. Students will cover the history of Rye in Maryland, what makes Maryland’s Rye different, and how it is unique to our state. On this final day we will do Rye tastings and sample some of McClintock’s exclusive aged offerings. Course costs include two whiskey tastings. Must be 21 to Register.
