In this 1.5 hour class for adults in The Learning Kitchen at Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm, you will learn various techniques for chocolate tempering. Tempering gives your chocolate a shiny or glossy look and when you bit into it, you can hear and feel the snap. We recommend taking this class before Coloring and Filling Truffles.
- Chef Mark will share some chocolate and food science and demonstrate various ways to temper chocolate so you can get the shine and snap of professional artisan chocolates.
- You will have the opportunity to try out what you are learning by making a few types of chocolate bark.
- Bring home with you the chocolate bark that you make.
No chocolate or cooking experience necessary.
We provide hot coffee, hot tea, and cold water. Feel free to bring other nonacoholic beverages with you.
Chef Mark enjoys sharing what he has learned in his 30+ year cooking career and through his pastry arts training at La'Academie de Cuisine. Although we just launched The Learning Kitchen at Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm in 2023, Chef Mark has been mentoring others throughout his career and teaching culinary arts at Frederick Community College since 2019.
