Join us for special teaching guest Paul Moxon who will explore the ins and outs of Vandercook Maintenance and repair. Learn how these fabulous machines work, how to problem solve issues, tune and adjust essential components, and a general overview of the working parts and care and maintenance needed for these printing machines. An exceptional opportunity for any printer or machine enthusiast.
We will learn proper maintenance techniques for upkeep of the inking system and other parts of the machine during these two 5 hour workshops (9-3 on Friday and 10-4 on Saturday with an hour for lunch). Participants are welcome to join us for either day or both days. New problems and techniques will be discussed during each session.
Paul Moxon is renowned for his Vandercookpress.com repair site and is a fount of knowledge. FBAC is home to 3 Vandercook No.4s and a Vandercook 219 - all with adjustments and repairs needed including adjusting gripper assembly, problems with height adjustments, roller carriage assembly issues, and sticking issues. Not only will we go through trouble-shooting and repair strategies for our own machines, but we invite students to discuss problems they may also have experienced.
Paul Moxon does not live locally so we do not know when we will be able to offer or if we will be offering this opportunity in the future. Sign ups will be limited.
