The Awakening is a play adapted from the Kate Chopin novel by Rebecca Chase, with music by Myra Platt. Set in New Orleans at the end of the 19th century, The Awakening is a compelling story of Edna, a woman ahead of her time, who undergoes a social, sexual, and spiritual awakening. This American literary classic was banned when released, and rediscovered in the 1950's.
