    Take a break from your Saturday routine and visit one of Maryland’s most Charming and distinctive small towns—New Market, just east of Frederick on the Old National Pike.
    The Events Committee is proud to present the 2018 Historic House Walking Tour. Included are some local landmarks—the first African-American schoolhouse in town, which was a log cabin; the Old National Hotel, complete with its original sign and a ballroom upstairs; the United Methodist Church, built in 1821; the Founder’s Inn, originally owned by William Plummer, a town founder, as well as several more distinctive and colorful properties.
    Other attractions and activities will round out this interesting and fun day— pottery demonstrations at The Village Potter, an exhibit of 19th children’s toys, and local archaeological finds at Town Hall.
