Frederick County’s major highway network makes the area easily accessible by motorcoach. All roads lead to Frederick when traveling I-70, I-270, US 15, US 40, US 40A and US 340. Below are the directions to the Frederick Visitor Center and information about why to make the Visitor Center your first stop.

Visitor Center Hours: 9am to 5:30pm Daily (including weekends), closed on some major holidays.
Designated short term motorcoach parking available directly in front for loading and unloading.

From Interstate 70: Take the Downtown Frederick exit 54 (MD 85/East Street) and turn north onto East Street at the traffic light at top of the exit ramp. In the right lane, continue north on East Street beyond a roundabout and the Visitor Center will be visible on the left, just beyond the traffic light at South St. On the right, follow the signs for “Bus Turnaround” and make a U-turn at the Transit Center/MARC Train Station. Upon exiting the Transit Center, turn left, and pull across the street into the designated bus parking space directly in front of the Visitor Center.
From New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore: Access I-70 W from I-695, the Baltimore Beltway, and follow I-70 west to exit 54 in Frederick, turning right off the exit. Follow directions from I-70.
From Pittsburgh and Western Maryland: Route I-70E from Hancock/ Hagerstown to exit 54 in Frederick, turning left at the traffic light at the top of the ramp. Follow directions from I-70.
From Washington, DC and points south: Route I- 270N from Washington, DC to junction with I-70 at Frederick. Exit for I-70 E toward Baltimore. Take exit 54/Rt.85/East Street toward Downtown Frederick, turning left at the light at the top of the ramp. Follow directions from I-70.
From Central Pennsylvania and points north: US 15S from Pennsylvania to Frederick. Take exit 13, W. Patrick Street eastbound. Follow Patrick Street until it shifts eastbound traffic onto South Street at a split. Follow South Street to East Street. Turn left on East and make a U-turn at the Transit Center/MARC Train Station. Upon exiting the Transit Center, turn left, and pull across the street into the designated bus parking space directly in front of the Visitor Center.
From Northern Virginia, Leesburg or Harpers Ferry: US 15N/340E from Virginia or West Virginia to Frederick. As you enter the Frederick vicinity, follow signs onto I-70 E toward Baltimore. Take the first exit after the I-270 split, exit 54/Rt.85/East Street toward Downtown Frederick, turning left at the light at the top of the ramp. Follow directions from I-70.
