In the late 1890s, Courthouse Square, now Frederick’s City Hall, was re-landscaped with an elaborate fountain fabricated by Variety Iron Works of York, PA. The fountain is topped with a sculpture, believed to have been created by J.W. Fiske Iron Works of New York, a prominent manufacturer of decorative cast iron. The fountain was rebuilt in 1965 and remains a delightful attraction.
