Make the Frederick, MD, Visitor Center your first stop for an unforgettable trip to our hip and historic destination!  

Housed in a beautifully renovated circa-1899 industrial warehouse, the Visitor Center features 2,200 square feet of interpretive exhibits. A state-of-the-art theater showcases an introductory film about Frederick. You'll also find a wide variety of maps, visitor guides and information on regional attractions and events to help plan your visit.

Visitor Center Desk

Friendly Visitor Services Specialists, experts in Frederick County tourism, are always ready to recommend sites and attractions tailored to your interests. Additionally, the on-site souvenir shop features a variety of destination-branded items, including Downtown Frederick gift cards. These cards can be used at about 200 businesses, including shops, restaurants and attractions. 

Infrared assistive listening devices are available upon request and can be secured at the front desk with valid identification.  

Headsets are provided free of charge (subject to availability).  Wheelchair-accessible seats and restroom facilities are also available.

If you’re planning a group visit, please contact the visitor center in advance. The center can provide welcome bags with area maps and information as well as assistance with group tour itinerary planning. 

Spacious restrooms and designated short-term motorcoach parking directly in front of the building are available to groups. 

 

Getting Here

Bike

Located at the edge of Downtown Frederick, the Visitor Center is easily accessible from major highways, including Interstate 70, U.S. Route 15, and Interstate 270. 

Short-term visitor parking, including accessible spaces, is available at designated spaces behind the visitor center. Out-of-county visitors receive three hours of free parking in the nearby East All Saints Street Parking Garage (125 E. All Saints Street, Frederick). Bike racks are also available if you plan on getting here on two wheels.
