C&O Canal National Historical Park

The C&O Canal National Historical Park winds through the Maryland countryside for 184.5 miles from Washington, DC to Cumberland. More than 15 miles of the park stretches through Frederick County from the Monocacy Aqueduct to the Washington County line at South Mountain. Two historic Canal Towns - Point of Rocks and Brunswick - are great access points to the famed C&O Canal towpath, with access to food, craft beverages, shopping, overnight accommodations, and ice cream. The park is a great place to explore the outdoors and our nation's history.
