Few symbols in American culture captivate an audience and send young and old spinning into holiday-infused nostalgia quite like a well-lit and decorated Christmas tree. In Frederick County, Maryland, we have plenty of ways to indulge those evergreen impulses!

The wreath and tree have become synonymous with the Christmas holiday. Made popular in the United States in the 19th century, the Christmas tree ranks up there with a jolly bearded man in a red jumpsuit and a reindeer with a glowing beacon for a nose as emblems of the holiday season.

In the 21st century, the acquisition of a Christmas tree has become an event all its own. Residents and visitors alike can jump into the holiday spirit with a visit to one of Frederick County’s Christmas tree farms. You’ll come away with a lot more than just a seven-foot Douglas fir – the family can make memories that will last a lifetime. So jump in the car and take to the county’s scenic backroads like Clark Griswold to find the perfect tree.
