Located on an historic property, deeded the "Resurvey of Cold Friday", once a land grant to Lord Baltimore in the 1700 with an historic home circa 1756. Elk Run grows 25 acres grapes. This site was chosen for its schist and shale soils, hot days, cool nights and proper elevation. Elk Run was the first All Vinifera (classic grafted vines) Vineyard in the state. Thirty seven years, dense planting, controlled and sustainable crop levels... and a consistent winemaker has presented the winery with more than 650 National and International awards. Presenting local music for over 25 years, guests join us with a glass of wine and a picnic, watching the sunset over the vineyard, coined "Wine Down Friday" from 6-9pm.
