The former Resurrection Reformed Church, built in 1829, displays a unique blend of 19th century architectural styles. A landmark in the community of Burkittsville, the historic church, which served as a field hospital following the Battles of South Mountain and Antietam in 1862, today houses the museum of South Mountain Heritage Society, dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the history of Burkittsville. The museum and church are open on the first Saturdays of the month, April - September, from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
