Eat and Drink 

Kick off your day with breakfast or lunch at Prospect Pantry. Pick up a bagel, a sandwich, or an acai bowl at this location on Main Street in New Market. 

You’ll also find a handful of other eateries along Main Street in New Market. Grab a coffee from 5 West, dig into elevated comfort food at Vintage, or kick back with Old Bay wings and an Orange Crush at The Derby Restaurant & Bar. 

This region of Frederick County is well-known for its wineries and farm breweries. Explore very well-known wineries like Black Ankle Vineyards, Linganore Wine Cellars, and Loew Vineyards to taste the bounty of Maryland's soil. Experience a delicious pint made with special Maryland-grown hops at Milkhouse Brewery at Stillpointe Farm. 

Linganore Winecellars has been making growing grapes in eastern Frederick County since 1972, making it one of the oldest wineries on the East Coast. 

History

Don’t miss the newly-installed exhibits at Monocacy National Battlefield, where the efforts of United States troops saved the nation’s capital two years later. Visit the 1760s Tenant House on Thomas Farm and learn more about the people who lived and worked there, including French immigrants, free and enslaved African Americans, farmers, and millers.

This region became prosperous when the Historic National Road arrived in the early 1800s. The community of New Market became one of Frederick County's "pike towns" on the National Road, a place where travelers could stop for a meal or spend the night. You can still find this historic charm on a walk along Main Street New Market. 

Family Fun

Little ones will love getting up close to 150+ animals at Green Meadows Petting Farm in Ijamsville. Your ticket also includes free food for the animals, hayrides, and a variety of play equipment. 

Cheer one another on at Tree Trekkers, where you can try 16 above-ground obstacle courses ranging in height and difficulty level. 

Roller coasters, go-karts, and mini golf are just a few of the exciting outdoor attractions at Adventure Park USA in New Market. There’s also plenty of indoor fun, including bumper cars, laser tag, and a 4D ride.

Say hi to a variety of amphibians, insects, and reptiles at Fountain Rock Park and Nature Center in Walkersville. Then, head outdoors to spot turtles along the boardwalk-rimmed quarry, explore limestone kilns, walk along the nature trail, or play on the playground.
